Amber Glen: Registered Irish Draught.

Amber Glen was with us for one season only, when we lived at South Yarde Farm, near S. Molton. He was a Grade A show-jumper, a fully Approved Stallion and had been selected by the Irish Horse Society as being of exceptional promise already when he was only a two-year old .Amber Glen was with me the year that Kremlin was away, show-jumping in Italy. We had fantastic hopes of Amber Glen, we thought the mares would come flocking as Irish Sporthorses are so popular and Amber Glen really was a most charming character, with fantastic looks and nice paces. And he could jump!
Nobody came flocking, I think we had 3 outside mares.. He covered my own mares and we had some bad luck with the resulting off-spring, one of which had to be put down as a foal.

Of the others, Stormhill Glen, out of Stormhill Arrow, was sold in Spain and I don’t know what happened to him.

Nothing else has achieved very much as yet.

I would have liked to keep Sweet Sirenia’s daughter by him, Stormhill Amber as she was a slightly sturdier version of her mother. As usual, money was a pressing concern and she had to go.

She has now got 66 dressage points and competes in local working hunters.

She had a very big jump as a 4-yearold.
I don’t know where Amber Glen is now, he went back to his owner in Buckinghamshire and we wish him well, a lovely stallion to deal with in all respects and a very perky forward-going horse to ride.
